One of the biggest honours I have had (and hardest secret to keep) !! Making one of my best friends engagement rings.. It honestly never gets easier when a friend asks you to create a ring, the emotions of not only knowing something huge is about to happen but also to be entrusted with creating one of the most special heirlooms of that persons lifetime for a moment they will never forget.
When James called me to discuss 'The obvious' in his words - (not that I had been waiting for this day for a long time or pestering him to ask her for years - probably more so than Yas herself 🤣) I was BEYOND excited!! But honestly where on earth to start... and HOW to not slip up and give the game away, a three week holiday to Australia was one way to avoid them haha.
James and I met up to choose diamonds and discuss designs with meetings disguised as 'runs with my husband' and also sent a lot of back and forth Whatsapp messages in the work day, deleting messages in-between to keep everything hush hush.
James wanted something 'classic, but a bit different, a statement... but not too much but also to be a showstopper... but still not *too* much...🙄 not the easiest brief haha.
BUT she certainly IS a show stopper, the trilogy lends itself to the classical element and the oval with two pears for something a little different to our usual style. A subtle fusion of granulation around the base of the prongs as a hint to our signature style... ! I think we nailed it James 🤍
